DateDaily.com

DateDAily.com

DateDaily.com is an online magazine started by the dating service Mate1. It features articles about the single’s scene. As well, it aggregates news on the topic from other online sources. WebIT was contracted as mean to test the success of the project at a minimal cost. Once the site was up, running and performing well, the development effort was transferred to the Mate1 development department. This way, Mate1 was able to reduce its initial investment cost and risk.

AskMen.com

AskMen.com

  • Custom CMS for an existing editorial cycle
  • Organizing old articles
  • New features and external content

AskMen.com is the biggest online men’s life style magazine. With a daily audience of over 500′000 and 35 new articles a week, the magazine required special attention. I custom built a CMS that fit into their editor’s style of work, reducing their copy to publish time. I also stored their existing content into a database to facilitate its retrieval and any future change to the site. Finally, I added new features. Over this period of time, AskMen.com saw a considerable increase in viewership.

Velan.com

  • Lead developer in a team of two
  • Introduced Open Source technologies to the HTC proprietary content management system Ignition Web
  • Improved the development process for better SEO

Velan, an established valve manufacturer was looking to update their site. HTC acquired the project, for which I was assigned development lead. As a team, we stayed true to the Velan mantra of developing a reliable, large scale product that will serve the needs of the client.

3macs.com

  • Redesign of the site
  • Upgrade of their CMS

3Macs came to HTC with a request for a site redesign. They were using an older CMS that required additional features for their new look. I helped HTC with the redesign: search engine friendly markup, light-weight pages for reduced loading time, cross-web browser consistent look and dynamic functionality. Additionally, I assisted in the upgrade of their older CMS.

Unisource.ca

  • Code auditing for performance
  • Upgrade of their CMS
  • Consistency in look and functionality across browsers

Unisource is a large scale distribution application with code in several languages. The difficulty revolves around the use of multiple programming languages. I was first asked to help in improving performance. Sometime later, I contributed to the project’s core.
